Good Shopify design isn't decoration. Its job is to take friction out of the buying journey and earn trust, so that more visitors turn into customers. These are the principles we apply to every store we build.
Design for trust and clarity
- Lead with the offer. Make it obvious what you sell and why it matters on the very first screen.
- Use strong photography. Keep product images sharp and consistent in style.
- Put proof next to the button. Reviews and trust badges belong near add to cart.
- Keep navigation simple. Fewer, clearer choices convert better.
Design for conversion
Small, deliberate details add up to real revenue. A sticky add-to-cart keeps the buy button within reach. A slide-out cart with a free-shipping progress bar nudges shoppers toward bigger baskets. Quick load times stop people leaving before the page appears, and a short, thumb-friendly checkout matters enormously on phones.
- Sticky add-to-cart on product pages.
- Cart drawer with a progress bar to encourage larger orders.
- Fast pages — trim heavy scripts and oversized images.
- Short checkout with as few fields as possible.
Design mobile first
Most e-commerce now happens on phones, so start with the small screen and scale up. Readable type, generous tap targets and layouts that never feel cramped are the baseline. A store that feels effortless on mobile almost always outperforms one designed for desktop and squeezed down afterwards.
Putting it together
At Codehouse we design conversion-focused Shopify stores that look premium and are built to sell, for brands in Pakistan and abroad.
