How to Give Collaborator or Staff Access on Shopify

By Codehouse · Shopify Experts in Pakistan3 min read

If you want a developer or agency to work on your Shopify store, never hand over your password. Collaborator or staff access is safer, leaves an audit trail and is easy to revoke.

Collaborator vs staff

  • Collaborator access is for Shopify Partners and doesn't use up one of your staff seats.
  • Staff access is for people on your own team, with permissions you set.

How to grant access

Open Settings, then Users and permissions. For a Partner, approve the collaborator request they send from their Partner dashboard. For staff, add the person and choose only the permissions they need. Remove access as soon as the work is finished.

Why it matters

Sharing logins is a security risk and makes it impossible to see who changed what. Collaborator access protects your store and your data.

How we work

At Codehouse we always work through proper collaborator access, never shared passwords, so your store stays secure.
